There is a huge market for rat meats here. Eastern Shore of Maryland. The guy i sell to has sold 1300 this year and that is a slow year. Season ends today and I hope i have a big check today as i have an order for 38. Meats go anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00 depending on size, with or without glands and how they are cut. [beeep] even lucked out this year and was able to sell 47 coon meats and some beaver as well. All who you know.

Sure wish I could find people to eat it

Use to work with a guy that trapped a lot. He brought canned beaver meat to work for some of us to try. I figured, why not, all they eat is sticks. Wouldn't you know they taste a little like wood, LOL. Still not bad at all. This was pressure cooked with carrots and onions. We ate it on crackers like potted meat. I'd try Muskrat as long as somebody else did first, of course I have always been dumb that way

I'm really surprised at the responses here. Muskrat meat is [beeep] good. They are a very clean animal....and all they eat are grass and roots. Crock pot stew or roasted....mmmmmm.
