The wife and I have had many cats over the years. Mainly, cause they don't bark and you can leave them for 2 or 3 days at a time and go visit relatives or whatever. They'll actually take care of themselves. They hunt all the time. They catch mice and the ocassional bird. We leave out some dry cat food for them and they're in the dooryard when we get home.
I have no particular love for cats but they're fun to watch. We had a cat that just disapaired about 2 months ago. She was 13 years old and her name was "Dead Meat". We picked her up at a takeout place that had a little petting zoo on the side. We saw this tiny little kitten and the wife wanted it.
We took her home to our other cat, A big black male we called "Spaz". He would clamp on to the kittens neck, sink his teeth in and whip it around like a rag doll.
That's how she got her name, "Dead Meat".
Dead Meat's passed on now. Got run over buy a truck or maybe a coyote ate her.
After Spaz got run over buy a truck or a coyote ate him,
Dead Meat was still alive. My daughter brings home a kitten and we said "fine". She named her Lizzy.
Thats the point of this post. The cat (Lizzy's) vocabulary is scaring me! Very vocal cat. It actually trys to talk english.
I'm a lite sleeper. Lizzy wakes me up in the middle of the night sometimes to go out. She cries "Ooouuu Ooouuu Ooouuu" until I get up and go to the door. She hasn't quite figured out how to say the "T" in "OUT" I usually give her a good nudge as she exits to let her know that I'm not pleased. She's 4 years old now and she's done a few snow angels in the winter from waking me up. As I open the door to let her out she starts crying "NO NO NO" and I launch her. She goes "YOU YOU YOU"
When she wants wet cat food she stands around the dry food an says "Eeee, Eeee, Eeee.
This cat lifts up it's paw so you can shake it's hand. She's a keeper. She has taken down squirels in wich I saw her do myself.
When she starts talking better than I do, she's DEADMEAT! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
