This isn't my picture, however, my knife will be identical. I just placed my order today and received my confirmation.

Ok, you twisted my arm... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif It is a Bob Dozier Columbia River Skinner, 4" drop point of D2 blade steel, Coco Bolo handle, brass hardwear, and will come with a Kydex horizontal sheath. Perfection... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow GC that is really really nice. I remember you posting a pic of another dozier knife sometime ago. I don't have a collection just a few good quality knives, but those doziers sure make me drool. I bet it's a point of pride for you. Gary that knife looks nice too, with a big guard under it.

Thank's guys, I appreciate the kind words about my Dozier knives. I use every one of them, no safe queens for me. IMHO they are the absolute best bang for a top quality using knife there is. Dozier has the knack for making a knife that feels good in your hand, and this is important, not just for awhile - but for hours of hard use. Many knives feel good enough when you pick them up and do light cutting chores. The story is told hanging onto that knife for some hard cutting work that last for more than a few minutes. Then you know you have a tool that is designed the right way. Dozier's heat treatment of D2 is legendary and they'll flat out hold an edge.

Gary, that must be an old, old, Dozier. I haven't seen that style knife from his hands in a long time. Very nice find!

GC, beutiful knife.

Gary-That one looks like a hell-of-a skinner to me, and a very good design!

You guys never listed prices or location?

My knife is a custom from a local guy who makes a great knife his name is Alan warren he has won many awards for his work.
I will try to post a couple pics of other knives of his.

Ok GC, now that I'm buttered up, how much $$$ and where do I get one? Those are some of the most beautiful and useful looking knives I've seen.

Bob Dozier's website is www.dozierknives.com and they are a super family to work with. You can run a search at any of the big knife talk forums like www.Bladeforums.com or www.Knifeforums.com and get nothing but the very highest regards for Dozier knives. Now, the bad news... there is at least an eight month wait currently on new customs from the Dozier shop. It used to be one year, but they seem to be catching up on the backlog. Occasionally there a few dealers who have a Dozier or two in stock. Places like www.agrussell.com, www.bladeart.com, www.vintageknives.com, www.michiganknives.com, www.knifeart.com, usually have some Dozier's around their shop. Right now it seems to be a little "dry" with not too many in stock with the various dealers. All the places I've listed are reliable and I can recommend doing business with any of them. They will all be helpful to you so you can get your hands on a new Dozier knife. I know you won't be dissappointed! I don't know if I prefer buying from a dealer, the anticipation of waiting on a true custom order, one that you've ordered with your individual specifications is a neat deal too. If I can help in any way don't hesitate to send me a message, or ask here. Buying a new knife is always exciting! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I realy love a stag handled knife,I've owned maybe a 1/2doz doziers and feel they are one of the best knives for the money that a guy can get i've just got hooked on buying from a couple of local makers.

Ya know that is sorta like asking what ONE firearm can you use for everything. If absolutely pressed right now and before I have this latest one in use, I'd have a mighty hard time giving up my K4 Straight Hunter.
