My Motorcycle solution

A couple weeks ago I brought home a nice V Star cruiser.
Diesel had shot up 16 cents in 5 hours and I decided it was time for a change.

So in 2 weeks I spent probably $25 on Premium.
Which is a DARN SIGHT LESS than what I was spending on #2 diesel.

Right now I figure Im getting in the high 40s-low 50s for mileage. And thats equal to or better than a lot of hybrids do.

And its fun.

I saved so much money this week I didnt even feel guilty about the accessories I got from JC Whitney.

Two weeks from now they will be paid for.

Im keeping my Dodge, its going to get a run once a week just to stay in shape.

So Thanks to Vance and Hinds I can still let the neighbors hear a rumbling sound, Im supporting the motorcycle company, which has a better rep with me than the oil company. The goverment is getting less funding too, cause its a piggy back tax, and I quietly (well except on downshifting) feel good that Im 20% greener than the greenies who dropped 40 K on a hybrid are.

And all for the fun of a ride. It just doenst come together this way too many times in a guys life. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like fun Tack. I'd be with you if I could only figure out to get two carseats on a bike. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought a new Harley two years ago to save gas money. Seemed like a great idea till I started with all those loan payments /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
Thet are fun, but it didn't balance out for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Aint that the truth?

I have been riding a Honda PC800 for 13 year now. Bought it new. Gas milage always in the 50s but has gotten 60. Yes, it pains me to pay more for a gallon of gas then what it used to take me to fill it up, but nothing I can do about that. The bike has more than 85,000 miles on it now and has yet to let me down. Dont expect it to either. And you know what? It still fun to ride. I hope that I can be riding it 13 years from now, as gas will likely be $10 a gallon by then if not sooner.

When Hussien Obammi takes over that bike will really shine.
I know what. Lets tax the oil companies. Does anyone really believe that big oil will be pay the BIG taxes? Does trickle down economics ring a bell?
