With a little help from Cbass, we finally got my new build up and running, and in multicam ta boot... a couple specs on the rifle,
Manners stock w/MCS-DBM Mini Chassis (pillar and glass bedded)
blueprinted Rem 700 action w/ Badger bolt knob
Badger 20MOA mount, Badger High steel rings (lapped/aligned/leveled) everything torqued to spec and blue loctite applied.
Shilen trigger
Shilen select match 24" SS barrel 1:8twst(threaded of course)
NF NXS 3.5-15X56 NP-R1 ret.
last but not least the new O2 Shadow XL Ti from SRT arms.
after my break in procedure, my first load i worked up using 42.5 of IMR 4350 and 139 scenars all 5 rounds were 1/2 MOA, i believe we have a new LR hammer, and we'll have some great vids in the future.
ENJOY!!!

I luv multicam. Sweet build/rig.

How do you like the Shilen trigger?

Who makes that tripod for the spotting scope, how do you like it? Heavy, light weight?

the shilen trigger is much better than the factory, it'll take me a bit to get used to, but its smooth.
my tripod is a Vanguard Alta with the ball head and grip, not to heavy for me, and great for the spotter, works well for my HD cam too, cant say enough about the ball head and grip, it gets you on target fast and smooth, i compared it to a couple manfrottos and to me it was built just a well, and should be for over 200.00

It took a while to get a post up on this nice looking piece of equipment, I had to get the mop bucket out to clean the drool off the floor.

Thanks for the info. Looks like a great tripod. I'll have to look more into this in the near future. Planning on buying a spotter maybe this fall from one of the Big 3's.

you'll like this tripod... i compared this one side by side to the manfrotto both the same price i felt this one was a tad more HD than the manfrotto...and i was actually looking at a gitzo but would rather spend the xtra cash on a better spotter... i'm looking to get one with an MOA reticle, USO makes a decent one i'm looking into right now.

USO spotters are junk, at least the ones I looked through. Glass sucks in them.

Ya, thats why i'm runnin 4 NXS's instead of TPAL's... when i calibrated all my NXS's they were all spot on... the USO's not so much, and like you said the glass quality of the NF is better than the USO scopes as well, IMHO, but on the spotter i may have to sacrifice some glass quality for the MOA reticle.

I had 1 USO 3.8-22*50 and wasn't impressed, esp for how much I had into the POS. I had to send mine in for two different reasons. Debris on the ret and the illumination knob was so loose it would turn on and off when you shot it.

I have 3 NF NXS and couldn't be happier. They do everything I want them to do.

I don't want to turn your thread into a USO bashing thread.

I'm not sure what spotters are out with MOA type rets. Perhaps a higher end Vortex might have it?

There's a handful with mildot out which you already know.

How quite is your CAN on your .260?

have you heard how to take care of this??? get you a thick phone book, and cup it in your hand... and whap the pi$$ out of it with your scope it'll make all the debris settle... cant imagine having to do this on a 3K scope... but heard it works

oh man... its great, its a 30 cal O2 Shadow XL Ti... quietest i have heard yet!!! i'll have some vid up soon once i get my ballistics ran and my BC calculated and put into my delta IV-LE program. i'll have to look into a vortex and see if they make a spotter with an MOA ret.

That's what they said to me on the phone and also on their website under there FAQ. I did use the technique, but it didn't solve my problem. Pretty sad that it's a common issue with a $2000-$3000 scope.

I wish we could own CANs in Michigan, but we can't. The 1000yd range I'm a member of is located in Indiana and they can own CANs. Occasionally they'll be a member that will have one and they'll let me shoot their rigs. I fall in love with them every time I shoot them.

Can you hunt with your CAN on in SD?

ya we can use them for basically any "lawful" shooting, varmints, to big game... I'll never shoot without one unless we get some idiots trying to impose more regs.
