My Predator light mount

My Predator light mounted to my shooting sticks. I have found that the problem with mounting this light to a scope is having to reach up to turn it on proves difficult. My solution is to put it on my sticks, right where my left hand naturally sits anyway. I can turn it on and pan it any direction needed in small movements, and if a big movement is required I simply pick up the sticks and swing them and gun. I have not had time to hunt with it yet, but testing in the yard leads me to think it will work very well. Love the size and brightness, and so far the battery life has been as advertised. Enough talk, here are some pics...

Made it with misc. parts lying neglected in a junk drawer and a swivel clip from Nite Lite. Hopefully helps out fellow Predator light owners.....

The Predator light looks like it could be a great light, I just wish they put a little more thought into it than simply repackaging a miners light with more lumens and calling it a Predator light. It would be nice if it had a micro switch wired into the light to control the hi/lo and on off functions so you could control it on the forearm of your rifle or shotgun. It would be also nice to have a dedicated bracket system for mounting to gun barrels, scopes and other accessories. Instead of using the existing miners hat bracket and trying to rig it to make it work for hunting purposes. For the amount of money they are charging for this light they could have at least did some design changes for use of dedicated brackets and switches and have the manufacture make the changes so it would be more of a hunting light for its sole purpose than a repackaged miners light.

I shoot with both eyes open, and have no issue at all with getting the recticle in the beam of the light. I actually like it better, because you don't have to swing the gun all over to pick up eyes. This light throws a pretty focused beam, and is easy to pick up in the scope. I should say though, that hunting in WI we are not allowed to scan for eyes. Our DNR rules only allow us to use a light at the point of kill, meaning only when we see an animal and are identifying for the shot. Just another example of their idiocy, but I wont get going on that....
No, the sticks are not attached to the gun.

It would be the perfect light with a pressure switch mounted on the forend of the gun! I guess as with all new products, there might be some improvements over time as feedback gets back to the company.

your incorrect. It's a miners light adapted for coon hunting but gained popularity as a predator hunting light so now accessories are being made. At least that's what I read.

Actually all "coon hunters lights" are nothing more than miners lights adapted for coon hunting and now are used for "Predator hunting" and have been in use since the 60's as my uncle was a houndsmen and ran Walkers and was also a miner in Pa, and him and his buddy's used their work lights to "light the coons" that were treed, they told of their fathers using carbide lights before that. Nite Lite Co. is a perfect example of miners light's being adapted and used for coon hunting....
