My wife has recently purchased two MP3 players so I thought I'd tell you guys what I think of them.
First was the RCA Lyra 64 MB. I didn't like it because it didn't have a repeat single function. She returned it because it would stop all on it's own. Girl at WalMart electronics counter said she had the same thing. Screen is LCD, no good in low light. Cost $50.
Second was the new ILO 256 MB. Cost is $80 I think. Good price for the amount of memory. Has repeat single function. Complicated menu system but easy enough to learn. Screen is like a black and white computer monitor so you can see it in the dark easy. ILO is a brand that WalMart is marketing, sort of like their Faded Glory clothes. Have to wait and see how reliable it is.
Both have SD/MM slots for expansion. Both run on one AAA battery. Both have a key lock (didn't help the RCA, it still shut off). Under WinXP, both showed up like harddrives. The ILO is barely larger than the RCA. Both have armbands, but the ILO has a hard case that clips onto the band, where the RCA has a soft pouch on the band. RCA wins that round. Though I guess the ILO could clip onto a belt also.
If I buy an MP3 player for my ecaller, it'll be the ILO!
