N Vision Halo shuts off after recoil, anyone else have this problem?

About 2 weeks ago I pulled the trigger and my Halo X50 shut off. I thought maybe I was holding down the zoom/power button so maybe it was my fault. Then a few nights later it happened again. I Know I was not pressing the button that time. I called N Vision and spoke with Chris. He said that I might have a bad battery so I changed out to 2 new batteries. A few nights ago the Halo froze up on startup. I had to remove the batteries to get it to respond. Then tonight I shot 1 time, it shut off. Next stand I shot 1 time and it shut off again. Next stand I shot 1 time and it shut off again. Three times in a row it shut off after 1 shot. I removed the batteries after each failure and reinserted them. The battery compartment is tight, I double checked each time. It will not power back on unless I remove/reinsert the batteries or wait a few minutes. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine has done that. I think the cap wasn't on right. It seems finicky. Hard to describe but it seems the cap has to be pushed in square and firmly then tightened. If i just loosley put the cap on and tighten the knob it doesnt want to snug down exactly square. Hope you get it sorted out!

Having the same problem with Pulsar Talion XQ38 shutting off after shot but can restart immediately it is mounted on 12 gauge. Contacted Pulsar
and they said send it in but season just started, I have read others say some issue with battery not seating properly?

Mike, have you tried a factory reset? Sometimes that works on many brands but don't know about the N-Vision.

No factory reset.
I have noticed over the past few weeks that there is a lot of resistance when I screw on or unscrew the battery cap. I can see the o ring dragging when I unscrew it. It is possible that the o ring has stretched a little and is binding in the grove. I tried what P&Y said and it goes on much smoother and comes out without any resistance. After that I fired 5 rounds this morning and it did not shut off. I have a call in to N Vision but they have not returned my call yet. Maybe it is just as simple as the battery cap being slightly out of square because of the o ring dragging, IDK. I really hope so. I'll update when I know more.

My first one that I bought last year did it because I wasn't tightening the battery compartment lid tight enough.

As for the O ring, rub a little silicon grease or a dab of Vaseline around it. DON'T USE OIL! Oil will break down the rubber. Silicon grease is what we use on battery compartment lids and threads on expensive dive computers where they HAVE to be waterproof and the O ring can't fail!

Thanks for responding. I am familiar with O rings and silicone grease. The reason that I have not already greased this O ring is because that I believe it is stretched due to wear. In my experience all that grease will do now is allow the O ring to easily slip out of place. Been there, done that with a Trijicon MK 3 Hunter.
I'm really hoping that simply putting finger pressure on the cover as I tighten it will solve the issue. I hunted tonight but never pulled the trigger so I don't know anything yet.
N Vision did not return my call today.

UPDATE

I did what P&Y suggested. Now when I insert the batteries it takes 2 hands. I use my left hand with a finger above and a finger below the knob and I apply slight pressure as I'm tightening the knob with my left hand. That really does make a difference with tightening the cap square.
There is still resistance when unscrewing the cap so I used a VERY small amount of silicone grease on the o ring. That made a huge difference, now it comes out with no resistance.
I know from experience that if an o ring is stretched it can "squeeze" out of the grove if you lubricate it but mine has not done that yet.
I have fired 20+ rounds, single and multiple shots, and removed the batteries for recharging several times. The scope has not shut down again.
Thanks to P&Y and Kino for your suggestions. So far the problem appears to be solved.
N Vision never did call me back.
