Need a gunsmith

Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith around the Mooresville-Lincolnton, NC areas? I have a Remington Ultra-Varminter 700 in .22-250 with a shot-out barrel throat. I have a new Remington barrel off the same model gun with the same contour and caliber. I heard Remington barrels are difficult to unscrew from their actions due to bonding (cement) used on the threads. I also want the new barrel stamping to be on the right side of the barrel when done so head-spacing is likely. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. I got a good recommendation at another site but the gunsmith is too far away.

This is your man (older guy in the back of the picture) for ANYTHING Remington related. A buddy of mine actually called Remington's custom shop and they said that they send a large portion of their work to him. That is how we found out about him. He is in Jacksonville though. He works closely with the military, SWAT snipers, etc. He is good!!! He has my Remington Sendero II 300 win mag doing the "Accuracy Tuneup" to it. He doesn't "specialize" in hunting rifles but sure knows a Remington rifle inside and out and know how to make them accurate. I found it kind of funny that he had never heard of my scope...Swarovski. Real nice guy and obviously knows his stuff.

Most of the time I send my guns to someone who is not in driving distance to do my accuracy work.
I would rather put it in one of the better smith's than having the convenience of them being close.
If you want a list who has worked out real good for me (I do shoot out to and beyond 1000 yards) ernieemily@yahoo.com

Dave Tooley in Gastonia is one of the best anywhere & Leonard Baity in Wilksboro specializes in Remingtons. Sorry, don't know what the proximity would be.
