Can any of you guys help me pick a trail cam for my son for his birthday.
I would like to buy a good one but I dont know anything about them.
Is infrared worth the money??? or is a flash unit good enough.
Thanks
Griz

Hope I made the best choice I ordered a Cuddeback no flash unit.
I also see that some users were not happy with the unit,If it gives me any problems I will send it back to Cabelas.

I was just going to post about what trailcams guys were using and what they thought of them. A few friends have Cuddebacks and the work great. I am thinking about getting a Moultrie and trying it just to see how it works against the Cuddebacks.

I really like stealth cam. I wouldn't go less than 3mp. Quality goes down a lot after 3mp.

I bought a couple off of ebay that have built in veiwing screen. PM me and I can tell you who to buy from...the guy gets them straight from the factory.

I have a stealth cam I390(3mp) and have had tons of problems with it. My dad has a lower mega pixel stealth cam that has only failed once, the pictures were rolling on the TV screen when we tried to view them. My experience hasn't been very good with stealth cam and I would probably try another brand before I get another stealth cam.

One thing I will say is they do take some good pictures(in my opinion):

Both were taken off my I390 stealth cam.

I would have to say anything under $100 and under 3mp will probably be a big dissapointment. Believe me, you get what you pay for and I don't think a $58 cam will satisfy you.

You couldnt give me a Moultrie. I have one and it is so slow it is useless. I actually bought some of the cheap wildviews for areas that they could get stolen and they are ten times the camera the moultrie is. The best is still the cuddieback.
