Well you could be like me.I've killed a couple of coyotes over the years, but while deer hunting.Last year I bought a western rivers predation call, sounds good and has a remote, but when you switch calls your remote has no call index on it. Just an up/down button. I am in the process of getting the money together for a foxpro fury, now that's a cool call.I've come to the conclusion for someone new at calling predators you better have the easiest call to use so you don't mess up.It's been my expeirence so far all it takes is one little mess up and your done for! I have really gotten into this sport, and that means lot's of dollars spent on gun, spot light, gun light, and caller. I'd say if you really get into coyote hunting you'll do the same!

Yea, i saw a bobcat deer hunting last year, but didnt get a shot at it. I just use some hand call that my hunting buddy gave me. I dont know how to properly use it though. But yea i bet electric calls would work good too, but there expensive. And i guess it takes practice at coyote hunting and knowledge about the sport, which i hope i get over the years. Thanks for replying.

You get yourself that "cool call". You'll be a predator killin machine in short order. Good luck to ya.

To the original poster. My advice to you is to read, read, read. Tons of good, useful info here on this board. You just gotta put out a little effort to retrieve it. Good luck to you too.

read, read, read, then read again, then think before posting. i used to yote hunt years ago and have now started back up....the game has changed since then. this forum has a WEALTH of knowledge and i lurked for 2 months before i posted anything. good luck though on your endeavors.

One good way to learn to use your hand call is to listen to others who are experienced. Look on utube there are many good calling tutorials by Randy Anderson and other experienced callers. There is a web page called Varmit Als he has a lot of sounds on this also you can listen to. Good luck and have fun.

Or save you money and buy an old pick-up, drive out west. Set-up on a flat where you can see the curve of the earth and slowly open and close the truck door to get that right squeak. And here they come!!
I'm just ribbing the west hunters, all in fun. I would love to go west for a coyote hunt. Just to see one coming in from more than 100 yds. This could happen, the drivers door on my truck is getting a squeak in the hinge.

lol, well i would like to hunt in open fields too, but were i live its woods, and no plains so thats hard to do. Yea rifle hunting a coyote would be nice, but i prefer shotgun for where live.

I looked up that utube site of arkyyoter, he was SO HELPFUL! he shows you how to call the simple way. I love all his videos. And the one of him calling so good he got atacked by a coyote(for laughs)lol. yea those videos helped.

heyjason also a video that helped me alot was calling eastern coyotes. its all about showing how to hunt/call them in the eastern woods. when we get togethor to hunt ill show it to you so u can watch it!

We use alot of differnt calls from e-calls to hand calls, e-call we are currently using a fox pro i have just orderd a kanati tek that i hope to have next week. Hand calls my favorite is the ruffy dog Jr by les johnson he makes a darn good call. you can also go to are my space and check out a few of are video's at runnin&gunnin new mexico boys, let me know what you think, they are not are best video's but are pretty cool none the less.
