I use a close reed knight & hale cottontale distress call and an open reed Quaker boy howler. I called my first coyote ever in on Sunday using only he Quaker boy howler. In Canada the call is around $25 and you can get it at Walmart or canadian tire. It's real simple to use. I'm still practicing with it and am by no means an expert but I was still able to call in a yote with it.P.S. I'm still very new to predator hunting and when I was asking pretty much the same question as you. Most people just said to keep going out and try and practice. That's what I did and 4 days into going out I called my first one in.
