Need Help finding thread (truck gun rack)

This particular thread I'm trying to find I saw awhile back. A member made a rifle carrier, I believe for a Toyota tundra where they raised half the back seat and carried the rifles in an upright rack. They had pictures of said fabrication. If someone saved pics or the poster sees this could you add pics or reach out on a PM? thanks
 
Didn't find that thread, but sounds something like the setup I rigged in my jeep. Started with the Kolpin mount but could not use it as intended. It was intended to be mounted in a more vertical attitude than I needed and the Only flat spot on floorboard was behind the seats. When you leaned it forward far enough, it required an extra brace which I made from a short piece of all-thread (visible in front of rifle trigger guard). Added the coat hooks for ear muffs and ring to hold flashlight to cover all the bases.
Another really handy addition was the saddle scabbard overhead (red arrow) for the youth single shot 20 ga. snake charmer.

Sounds like the Kolpin would work great in the Toyota, or if you plan to fabricate your own, might give you some ideas. Have fun!

I found one post about it, but the guy hasn't been active since 2019. I sent him a message but doubt I'll hear from him. He mentioned using an atv mount and welding up some angle and mounting to the rear sear mounts. I'll see what I can dream/think up.
 
Not sure what the original looked like, but I've been thinking about one of these. Universal mount that installs between the headrest and the seat to carry your rifles vertically.

That would rack work fine and super easy to install if there is no need to access guns rapidly. My main concern would be that there is no provision for keeping the gunstocks from getting together if you use the truck off road, but you could rig some sort of padded rest for the butts to take care of that.

I needed quicker access to the rifles yet wanted something easily removable for my pickup and couldn't find anything on the market to do that job. Ended up fabricating a rack that rests on the dash board, rear floorboard and rear seat, held in place between the bucket seats with 2 bungee cords. It was capable of carrying a bolt gun for driver & passenger and an AR in the middle & provided easy access for driver and passenger. Used carpet to pad all contact points between he rack/vehicle and the firearms. Nothing for looks, but worked as intended for 22 years, holding the firearms on & off road and the truck was no worse for the wear when it was removed.

I’ve seen a few setups like that, but I’m not sure I’ve found the exact Tundra build you’re remembering. The idea of using the rear-seat mounts to support a fabricated upright rifle rack sounds familiar, though. Hopefully someone has the original pictures saved or the member sees this and can repost them. That would be a great reference for anyone wanting to build something similar.
