Need input, any experience with 308 caliber 110g Nosler Varm?

Back in the 80's, I used the Sierra 125g HP on coyotes, had good success. Hard to find bullets these days, wondering if anyone has any experience with the 110g Noslers? Accuracy, speed in 308's.

308 is one of my favorite cartridges. I've shot the Nosler 110's and v max 110's. Its been long enough ago I don't remember the velocity but they were accurate. I bet they would hammer a coyote.

Keith, the 110 Varmageddon is the only bullet I could get to shoot in my BAR (if I didn't try them all, I didn't miss many in the 110-125 gr. range). Have to admit, I've had better triggers on several shotguns than the BAR has. The Nos. 110 VG hammers coyotes!

I got 47.9 gr. of H4895 to put four shots touching (repeatedly) but always had one (random) flyer (always at 12-1 o'clock)which opened 5 shot groups to 1-1.5". Did a lot of stock fitting, changed from 3-9x40 Burris E1 to 4.5-14x44 with exact same results.

Long story short, I finally noticed that I am seeing a phantom horizontal crosshair adjacent to the real one, which probably is causing the fliers. Had a laser procedure done on the eye a couple of weeks ago but didn't help. Doc says if it didn't help, it was my macular degeneration and there is no help for that.

Wish I could give you an accurate velocity, but my relatively new Pact chronograph bit the dust and no customer service

but according to Nosler's loading manual, 47 gr w/110 Barnes shows 3129. I did squeeze one reading out of the Pact (out of a dozen shots) before it went completely dead showing 3018.

Clarence

No help with the Varms, but the 110 Vmax is one accurate bullet, in anything I've tried it in. I shot a few coyotes with them last year right at 3k fps out of my 30 RAR and they were actually quite fur friendly. Love that little bullet.

The 110 Sierra HP in .30-06 is not fur friendly on broadside shots. The Speer 130gr HP on Texas heart shots looks like a hind 1/3 body detonation. Absolutely not fur friendly on running away shots.
