Needles and thread for sewing up holes

I use generic dental floss. Works great and is pretty cheap!! As for needles, go to your local vetrinarian and get a curved or s needle. I like the s shaped needle. It lets me sew more comfortably.

If you want to repair the hole for sale,just put a piece cardboard behind it,and use push pins to hold it in place until dry.Then,next time you skin something,cut off some thin flesh and stretch and smooth it over the tear.When this dries,no hole.SSSShhhhhh!
 
Package of curved needles from Walmart. Costs a couple bucks. Waxed white dental floss. The cheaper the better. Some hides are pretty tough. I know it sounds nancy but a thimble makes life a lot easier on your fingers- especially if it's a long tear or a tougher hide like the top side of a badger.
 
I use a regular needle, with heavy duty cotton thread. First put fur skin side out on the edge of a stretcher in a vise. The hole should be put on top of board, pin each end to board, then trim ragged edges, and any pink membrane on hole edge. Start sewing on one end, stitches less than 1/4" apart, hitch every stitch or the sewn edge will roll and be very easy to spot. Try to use the last 1/16th" of the skin edge to sew, dont go deep into the skin.
