I have a NEF 20 ga. single shot that is collecting dust in my gun cabinet. It was my 1st gun so I don't want to sell it. But i heard they make interchangeable rifle barrels for it is that true. Where can i find one? I looking for a .204 .223 or .220

Check out the website for NEF http://www.hr1871.com/barrelAcc/index.htm

Additional barrels may be added to firearms of our manufacture since 1987 only, with a serial number that begins with N or H. We do not install additional barrels on any other manufacturer’s firearms.
Additional barrels are available as additional barrels only. We will not exchange barrels for existing barrels on shotguns and rifles, as it will change the model.
Rifle frames may be fitted with additional rifle, shotgun, and muzzleloader barrels.
Shotgun frames may be fitted with additional shotgun and muzzleloader barrels only.
We do not sell additional barrels outright. All barrels must be factory fitted.
We do not sell barrel blanks or do custom calibers.
In order to obtain an additional barrel(s), the stock, forend and frame (receiver) must be sent to us so they may be properly hand-fitted to the barrel, to be sure they are correctly head-spaced and proof-tested.

As stated on the web site, they won't fit rifle barrels to any shotgun frame. If it was built '87(NB or HB serial # prefix) or later, they will fit a muzzleloader barrel to it, or other shotgun barrels except the 10ga. Please realize that costs listed don't include the $15 fitting or $10 shipping charge.

EDIT: You may be interested in the 45C/.410 barrel, it comes with a screw in choke and fully rifled barrel, but no sights, just a front bead.

Wrongtarget, do you have any experience with NEF rifled slug barrels? I've got an H&R 12 gauge I don't use much and have debated the 45/410 and 12 gauge slug barrels a few times. I have read contradictory reviews on the accuracy of 45colt loads through the 45/410 barrel too.

No, I don't, the only shotgun I have is a 20ga Pardner. The Ultra Slug guns are very accurate from reports at Graybeard, several members from shotgun only states swear by them. As to the accuracy of the 45C in the .410 barrel, the 2 big problems with them is the lack of sights and even more so, the bullet jump in the looooong chamber!! There are several discussion threads at Graybeard on the .450 Mongo which uses .444 brass, pretty fair accuracy can be achieved with sights. There has also been some discussion of using 2½" brass .410 cases, but I didn't follow that much. The Graybeard forum software was recently upgraded, it's working the best ever, so don't hesitate to stop by. I go by Quickdtoo on that forum....
