To polish the chamber, I use a .410(on the .223) bore mop with JB Bore compound or Flitz on a military patch wrapped around it, put the mop on the tip section of a 3 piece rod, chuck it in a drill and polish for a couple minutes, in and out not hitting the throat too much. Add more polish a few times during the polishing.

Keeping the chamber clean and dry is important. I've shot over 300 rounds thru my .223 Ultra and have never stuck a case in it. I haven't had a stuck case in any NEF/H&R that wasn't my fault for not cleaning and drying the chamber before shooting and I have 8 frames and 19 barrels.

The new NEF/H&R rifles are being fitted with mechanical extractors as they run out of the ejector underlugs, eventually all of their rifles will have extractors. You can convert a spring driven ejector to a spring driven extractor, but it won't solve the stuck case problem since the weak spring is the reason for the stuck case along with either a dirty/oily/rough chamber or too hot of ammo, but the polishing helps for normal shooting. The conversion below just allows you to pluck the spent case from the chamber to save you from having to catch the brass.
