Got mine in the mail today. Time to start thinking what areas I want to apply for. I have 1 bonus point for deer, 5 for elk and dessert big horn sheep. Not eligable for antelope till 2006. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have always wanted to hunt deer in Nevada but as a nonresident I can’t justify “donating” $113.00 to get a point if you don’t draw. I’m sure some lucky people get drawn the first time as nonresidents but they are few and far between. My neighbor has 5 points and still did not draw last year.

I would like to see all the states use the Utah nonresident method for acquiring points. You can either buy a point for $5.00 and not apply or you can apply, not get drawn and get a single point for $5.00.

The Utah system makes you decide which point you earn, you can not get multiple points for various species. I currently have 3 Bull Elk points, 7 seems to be the magic number to draw my hunt. I also put in for draw Deer hunts but can’t get points because I prefer to collect Elk points. Great system!

Mr.Mister,
I don't think you are missing anything by not deer hunting in Nevada as the deer population is so low right now and in the last few years as to make a trip here to hunt them and all the money it cost to get a tag not worth it at this particular time anyways. The wife and I saw more ferral horses than deer last season and it is the first time we have not scored on a deer also.I am sure we are not the only state with a major decline in mule deer but ours are far and few between anymore...NVWalt

Another year of no big game tags! AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hey Lance, sounds like you need to take your frustrations out on some prairie dogs. Why don't you come up to Wyoming with us next weekend and shoot a couple.
