New blaster...

I like it! I have the standard P365 and I'm thinking on getting this slide for it, as it uses the same barrel length as mine.

Thanks! I haven't shot it a lot yet but with 150 rounds through it, I'll say it was surprisingly accurate as I sighted in the EPS Carry. It was reliable with 100 FMJ and 50 Federal HST hollowpoints. And maybe the comp does soften recoil and allow the gun to shoot flat when firing fast. I don't have a firm opinion of that yet. Another 850 rounds and I'll have a better evaluation of it.

Looks awesome. Would have to be a play gun and not a carry piece for me.
I had 1 ported carry gun but never again. To dang painful on the ears if you ever have to use it without ear pro.

If I ever have to use it in a defensive situation a loud noise is the least of my worries. I have some experience with such and in the times I have been in a two-way exchange auditory exclusion has caused the gunshots to sound like popcorn popping rather than ear-splitting noise.

Gonna get a Streamlight TLR7 Sub weapon light for it tomorrow if they are in stock at my local shop. Just ordered a Vedder holster tonight.

But.....but.....it's NOT a 1911! (Tongue-in-cheek).

Lol......looks like a nice piece, and they seem to be a very popular choice right now. Keep us updated on how it does for you, please.

You mean like this one?

Ahhh, that's mo better. ;) :)

The only ported handgun I have is a Witness. Never shot it without ear muffs; biggest complaint I have is the ports are on either side of front sight and after a couple of shots the red dot is no more.

Month or so ago I bought a Springfield Range Officer in 45ACP. I haven't shot it much due to weather but I have carried it some and must say its very comfortable. Mags are only 6 rounds but came with three. Not as heavy as a full size 1911 and more like a Commander. Nice pistol!

I think the closed emitter types will be the new standard. I suspect technology will push those to get better and better. They are shockingly tough and reliable. Aimpoint and Trijicon are dang near indestructible. Holosun seems to be right behind them. Leupold is good too.

Red (or green) dots are not for everybody. Pistol enthusiasts will love them. Pistol red dots allow you to do stuff you can't do with iron sights, just like red dots on ARs.

For ccw, open emitters require near daily maintenence to clear lint and dust from the lense and emitter. Closed emitters rule for ccw because they don't have that problem- they're fully enclosed. There's nothing wrong with an open emitter for range use or home use, or duty use with a hooded holster, they work great.

I've owned several different red dots (five) and shot more. What you select depends on your needs.A few of mine.

Trijicon is the Nightforce of red dots. They are extremely durable and the glass is good enough. RMR Type-2 works great and it battle proven tough. They are expensive, and the window is a bit small. I sold mine after a year because I think other brands offer more value and better options. The new RCR and RMR HD and seem huge and costly, but I haven't gotten my hands on one yet. I bet the RMR HD quickly becomes #1 for duty use, although I think it sits too high and the window is small.

Holosun has a bunch of models, with lots of options, reticles, and colors. The 507/8/9 series is proven tough. The 507 Competition has my eye right now and I'll probably get one once they hit the shelves... The SCS fits mos Glocks or cut slides without needing surpressor height sights, an easy entry level choice. The green EPS is my current favorite and I carry it every day. It just "looks" way better than other red dots I've used.

Red dots are not indestructable. I smashed the Hex Wasp that came on my Springfield Hellcat. It still works and holds zero, but the glass shattered after a little abuse. Stick to the big boy brands for durability.
