I have a pair of field and streams I've had for about 7yrs and they just started to leak. I'm looking at Irish setters grizzly tracker 1000gram. they seem to have mixed reviews. I've always got the same field and stream cause they were good but not so much anymore. anyone have Irish setters or maybe rocky. I'm at a loss with not being up to date on boots.

I have a Wolverine 400gr & a Rocky 400gr. also a Rocky 800gr. used to buy Brownings, but found better deals now on the Rockys. I like to rotate my boots, they dry out and last longer. I do like the Wolverines, but bought this pair at Dicks before they came out with the "no AR " statement. A lot of these boots are made in the same sweatshops I think. Mixed reviews are OK with me, all good are a red flag to me.

I had some rocky 800s and they fell apart and were too hot for me. My feet sweated and got cold. Now I'm wearing Irish setters uninsulated but with goretex. They are nice, seem to be holding together great, and keep me plenty warm to 10° with good wool socks.

I wear Muck woody elite boots and they are awesome. I wear them for deer hunting, yote hunting, to ice fishing. Warm, water proof, and comfortable. I can say this with confidence as I am very picky about boots. I spent 14 years serving with the infantry and I wouldn't wear them if they didn't work.

I really like my Danner High Gounds with 400g. They've been keeping my feet warm in the 5 degree weather here in MI's UP. Even sitting on stand for 45 minutes.

They're Gore Tex too.

I have the fieldblazers and they have to be the most comfortable boots I've worn they state the comfort range is subfreezing to 65. If it's not under 40 my feet sweat alot, if it's much colder than 30 there cold but I still wear them all the time and my next pair will be mucks.

I got a new pair of Under Armor Brow Tines in Realtree Extra with 800g of Thinsulate. Warm, dry, and comfortable. We have been getting snow here in Western New York for weeks. I wear them everywhere. They have been on stand with me twice and are warm without the need for wool socks. Temps near zero and wind chills -10 to -20. Hiking from stand to stand all day they are comfortable and the feet do not overheat, sweat, and then freeze.

I had 2 pairs of Rockys in years past that the soles completely disintegrated on. I mean they literally melted right off the bottom of the boot. I'll never by Rockys again. I have had good luck with Lacrosse and wear uninsulated in spring/summer and insulated in fall/winter. They are lighter in weight than most similar rubber boots and fit well around the ankle.

Danner, makes good boots. Irish Setter makes OK boots, I guess it all depends on how much you can afford to spend and how soon you want to replace them. I used Rocky boots 20 years ago, they were fine but nothing to write home about.

I think if you wear them enough they all leak and depending on terrain they all get beat up. I have tried knee high rubber type boots and they have their place for sure, but my feet sweat a lot.

I'm a big fan of Hoffman boots out of Idaho. They're certainly not cheap, but they're built in the USA and tough as nails. The quality is hard to beat. I've got a pair of their work boots and a pair of their pac boots will be my next purchase for hunting. Friend has a pair and swears by them.

That being said, I also like my Danner Pronghorns when the weather isn't quite as cold. Very comfortable. With any boot, a good wool sock such as Smartwool or Darn Tough (out of Vermont and guaranteed for life) is a must.

I wear Danners for everyday stuff. They are comfortable and pretty tough. USA models are best.
For hunting the Meindl boot has been very good for me.

Muck boots for everything. Deer, turkey, waterfowl, and predator. Wetland version for warm weather and arctic pro's for cold. My first pair from 2003 is still going strong!

I'm looking for a pair of boots that will be easy to remove before getting back inside the truck. Do the muck boots come with side zippers to make them easier to get on and off. Or will that make them leak when walking in water?

I have a fused ankle (foot is always 90 degrees to my leg) and I was able to get Muck boots on and off in the store. They will be my next pair of boots.

My experience with side zip boots is they do tend to leak at the zipper. I prefer lacrosse boots to muck boots, if you watch the break room you can often find them on sale. You will need to sign up and register an email address, they will notify you by email as soon as the sale starts. https://www.hitthebreakroom.com/

To choose the right boot, I recommend making a decision based on the features offered and the intended usage. For hiking you will want low insulation if you are in cooler climates or high elevations. For daily usage The boot should conform to your foot, and should be snug without being tight. Wolverineboot is one of my favourite one. http://www.bootratings.com/ has great reviews about boots.
