Has anyone else got the new Cabelas "BOOK" that they are sending out?

Obviously pretty expensive. But it got my attention. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This thing qualifies as a "coffee table book". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I got the hardcover one with the elk on the front if that's what youre talking about. Got my attention to /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

After all I've ordered, I've never gotten one. I know people that have ordered 1 item in 5 years and got it. Either they don't like me, or it may have something to do with having their credit card. I don't have one and that could explain it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif.

I don't have a card and I don't order a WHOLE lot, and I have gotten one for the spring and fall for a couple years /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I've gotten them for 3 or 4 years now. I don't have their credit card, and I don't spend all that much there either. In fact, I doubt if the amount of money I've spent with them over the years would do much more than cover the annual budget of a medium sized country. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been getting 3-4 catalogs a year from them for quite some time also, but NEVER anything like this thing. It's a hard-cover book moreso than a catalog.

We usually get the Fall I & Fall II Editions and the same for spring. Then friends that spend over a certain amount have received the hardback single edition. None of us have the credit card either. This year is the first year we have received a Huge Bass Pro Shops catalog too, it came about a week before the Cabela's hardback. We also have two new Cabela's stores going up. So it appears to be a power play to me.

Yes, I know. The one I got the other day is 1400 pages (oddly enough it just happened to be sitting here for some obscure reason). The regular magazine type shooting catalog I got within a day or so of the hardbound is only 176 pages.

I got a fishing catalog too but I can't tell you how big it was cause I threw it away. (I don't drown worms). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't worry you'll still get the multiple catalogs a year, you just rate the collectors edition too. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside doesn't it, kind of like you just ought to buy something. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Why look there on page 616. They're selling reloader powders for only $120 a keg. Why, I might just need some Reloader 22. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I get about 1 catalog a week from Cabelas. It's rediculous. Not saying that I don't like Cabelas but they could be saving a lot of money by just sending 1 a month or so. They act like I'm gonna forget about them or something.

That ain't it.

The funds spent on catalogs are ADVERTISING, and any monies spent in that manner come straight off the top of the PROFIT figures when it comes tax time. So basically, they're just increasing sales by spending profits and avoiding taxable income in the process. Profits go down / overall sales go up / taxes go down / net worth increases. Win/Win situation if you're making money in the first place. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Does anyone need one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif, cause they send every issue to both my wife and my self and my recycling bin is heaping!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I started getting them last year and just received the 2007 this week. Nice catalog. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
