New Coyote Hunter in the NE - Foxpro Patriot/Prowler vs. Icotec G300

A couple nights ago I heard several coyote near a feed lot about 3/4 mile upwind (5-10 mph) of my location. I set my FP to 10(1/2 volume) and played 2 challenge howls and 10-15 seconds of female barks and howls. Second time I've used that sequence in that field this year. A few minutes later I saw them headed my direction. A couple circled downwind, couldn't see(heard them after shooting) them but one ended up out in front and shoot able. They can hear WAY better than most realize. I've used a Primos squeaker to call them from 300 yards on calm cold nights and they knew were the sound is coming from.

That said, the previous GM made some decisions around the MFK partnership that didn’t work out well.
Is that Icotec GM or FoxPro?
I have the Outlaw + but want the X24 MFK edition. I finally saved the money, but if Tory is leaving FoxPro, that may change my decision.

Yeah the Icotec works, but when I started out I was using an old borrowed FoxPro and there was a couple prey distress sounds that seemed to really produce when nothing else would.

It was Chuck with ICOtec. An MFK edition X24 would be a good choice.

Spur if I remember correctly ICOtec changed the the encryption of sound files on there calls and caused the split between mfk and them after a short time together, and thats when he partnered with foxpro

I have the x24 mfk edition along with many many other mfk sounds that I have purchased and added since being released, You will not be disappointed on your purchase of the x24... mfk just released some new breeding sounds on the website beginning of the week that im itching to try out now that we dont have all the snow to try plowing through

Sounds stupid but does FoxPro still have the Flying Squirrel sound? It was on that old FoxPro I used and everything down here really liked it. And yeah, we have thousands of those little jokers down here. You’ll never see them unless you thermal hunt though, lol.

I just looked at my remote for the x24 and yes flying squirrel is on there

If you’re running a stand and need something that keeps things curious without blowing them out, FXP Roaring Red Squirrel is a killer in-between sound.

And there it is;

I’m not looking to deal with shipping, but if you’re willing to meet up in Oklahoma, I’ve got either an ICOtec Night Stalker or an ICOtec Outlaw I’ll let go for $75.

I’m not sure if Tony Tebbe has had any previous involvement with Icotec, but the podcast I listened to recently with JD Piatt about the newest Icotec caller, JD mentioned that TT had donated 20 sounds (new sounds I think?) that will come loaded on the caller. Anyone think TT will fill the void with JD moving on?

Yes, he partnered with them in 2018 to sell their calls, but he won’t limit his sounds to just one company. TT is proud to remain independent and keep his format compatible with all callers.

Thanks, Jeremy. I’ve kind of been a solid Foxpro guy for years. Never followed Icotec in the least. I’ve known about Tony Tebbe forever it seems, but never used his sounds until a year or so ago.

I hope it works out for JD. Still seems risky to me for FP to partner with another sound guy. Kind of creates a competition from within scenario by my way of thinking. Time will tell I suppose.
