Most of my long-range handguns have the 3-12X Burris Ball. Plex reticle, but my most recent project is an XP 20 BR, and i'm putting this riflescope on it-- www.rapidreticle.com 3-9X 32mm 22 LR reticle, mostly for it's size, and the more precise windage stadia reference those reticles have-- but a lot of that reticle is gonna be wasted since it goes down to 20 MOA, and that's way too far for the 20's. That rig will probably net u 400 yd. +/- performance on coyotes, with the right scope...and that means ballistic reticle or accurate turret comeups. I'd go 3-12X Burris Ball. Plex or the Leupold with an elevation turret installed for handgun scopes, although some of the simple plex reticle scopes would give u accurate trajectory compensation if u're interested in that kinda stuff. With the minimal recoil of that cartridge u could put riflescopes on it also, as i'm doing with my 20.
