New homemade pistol targets...

They are about 4 1/2 feet tall, 8 inch discs, but you could hang just about any size from them. Easy to transport and easy to set up. Came out way better than any PVC or wooden ideas I was kicking around. I know this isn't a pistol shooting web site, but I don't belong to many other gun friendly sites.

I also have some 3/4 inch thick square steel plates for shooting with my .223 at longer distances.

Rory, That's a great idea for a portable pistol/rifle target...You could load several in a vehicle and drive them to where you wanted to place them pretty easily...

I like that idea Rory--I built a spinner awhile back-.22 only
kinda rusty-need to repaint.

I like that spinner set-up. I am in the market for a .22 pistol, or a conversion for my 10mm. That looks like fun!

It is just some scrap stuff--angle/some pipe--the stems of the target plates are Head bolts from a truck repair--I guess like others just like to tinker..saves cash for other things..

Rory, what is the stand made of?
How long is the part that is in the ground?
That is a GREAT LOOKING stand.
I gotta make me one of those.

Its is just a 3/4 inch steel bar. The whole thing is 72 inches long, (give or take on each bar) with 10 inches in the ground past the foot peg and 12 inches bent over for the hanging bar. Foot peg is 4 1/2 inches long. The hanging hook is just a little piece of square steel bent like an "S".

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT looking targets guys.
I want to make one, 12" side to side and 8" tall.
Coyotes around here are kinda small. If I can hit a piece of steel that size, I should be able to kill a coyote.
With my 223 and 45gr hp, I'm thinking 1/2" would be more than thick enough.

Built this duelling tree from scrap. The paddles are part of an old bow section rib found at a local ship breaking yard.

Great fun, especially for two shooters, especially if they are of equal skill. Try and get all the paddles to the other guy's side, but bring lots of ammo
