New Idaho wolf hunt tag price

Looks like Idaho F&G finally made a good decision. Didn't understand where they came up with the $26.50 in the first place, especially when a cougar tag is $9.75 right now. I'm sure tag prices will go up in a few years anyway, but for now........C'mon hunting season. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Oops, forgot to put the link.

I just called to see what info the Idaho fish and game could give me and they said that nothing is set other than the price and that the way it looks right now nnothing will happen next year that they think the earliest regular season will be in 2009.... but as they said nothing is set in stone...

any info on out of state prices? are they abundant enough for me to drive 3 days to hunt them? are they over the counter or a drawing? just curious

That's funny that they told you that the earliest season will be 2009 when the report stated that it may start this year. I doubt we'll get a hunt in 2007, 2008 is probably more realistic. 2009 means that somebody is dragging their feet.

As far as out of state hunters goes, it would seem to me that the same rules that we have for cougars would apply to wolves also. There isn't any real info out yet, I think it's going to be a wait and see for a while yet.

actually the feds are not releasing them till later this year or early next. That is why it will probably be 2009.
so far they have only commited to releasing the ones in MN. area as of now. so hold on to your horses.

And it would probably be by drawing because they can't regulate over the counter sales as well unless they do quatas as they do deer and elk non-resident.
