New LimbSaver® Barrel De-Resonator?

Has anyone tried the New LimbSaver® Barrel De-Resonator? It is designed to dampen out unwanted vibration by shortening the overall settling time of the barrel. The accuracy benefit is reported to be immediate, providing sub-minute angle groups with over-the-counter factory ammunition. It simply slips over most standard barrels. Worth the $20? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I've seen'em advertised but have no intention to see how the UGLY DUCKLING works.

Everything I own shoots well under 1" groups at 100 yards with very little tinkering on my part to date. Most of my barrels are the Heavy style so from reading your post, it sounds like one would not fit the "heavies" even if I were moved to make a fashion statement and slap one on.

Why tcman, would you call the above referenced item a fashion statement? Furthermore, at the risk of sounding rude, why would you even bother to respond to the post? I simply asked if anyone had tried it, you obviously have NOT. Pray-tell how could your less than informed opinion or reply prove of any value to me or others considering the use of a new item.

To have simply said “no think you, I have not found the need for one” would have been opinion enough. The tone of your reply comes across as degrading and demeaning to anyone who seeks to improve the efficiency of a particular rifle. I suppose beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, some like wood some like synthetic but to belittle those with preferences one way or the other serves no value. Now you have my opinion of your reply, thanks for sharing.

Ordered one a month or so ago. Got it and tried it out a few weeks ago. First of all it is a PAIN to get on the barrel. You are suppose to lube it up with oil before you put it on the barrel but to me oil on the outside of the barrel means rust. So I worked it onto the barrel and took it to the range. My gun was already shooting sub moa @ 100 but figured I'd try it. If anything, this little thing opened up my groups (or maybe I was just having an off day). Anyway, with no noticeable gain in accuracy and the fact that it really takes away from the looks of a good looking gun I removed it. Well actually I could not get it off the basrrel so I cut it off. Might work better for you than it did for me. Just my experiences with it.

Why pray-tell, sorry my little 'ol reply offended you........ps...didn't belittle anyone...simply called the item an UGLY DUCKLING and that's what I think of it...you may behold it as a very lovely item if you wish....and should you ever do so, I'll try my best to hold my tounge, versus scolding you for providing your opinion /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif
