New Nighttime Rig - Sig Cross

I purchased this Sig Cross a couple of years ago, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I took it to the range a few times and it was an ok rifle. Ergonomics were really good and the accuracy was around 1 MOA - nothing to write home about. After that, it was mostly a safe ornament.

Last year I decided I needed a new nighttime rig for coyotes. After kicking around ideas of a new build, I dragged the Sig Cross out of the safe and started trying a few different thermals on it. I mounted a Super Hogster, Iray Bolt, and the Iray RH50R. To my surprise, the length of pull and check riser adjustments were able to accommodate any thermal I mounted.

After discovering the Cross would accommodate any thermal I wanted to run, I set out to swap the barrel to something more suitable for coyotes. I purchased a 22cal, 1/12 twist MullerWorks blank. Then the blank and rifle was sent to Vernonia Machine Works, where the barrel was chambered in 22-250 and cut to 20". Accuracy is excellent with the new barrel.

The rifle as pictured with the RH50R and Surefire can, weighs in at just a hair over 11 pounds. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this setup as a nighttime rig.
