Many years ago, when I was about 17, and we had more ideas than sense, like having to use a rawhide mallet to open bolt on gun, we were at range. Next door neighbor, real assho-e, didn't want range next to his property so would dump garbage on fenceline. Imagine flies. We would smear jelly on target and use grids for sighting in to call shots from spotting scope when fly lit on target. Like 9 and 3/4 inches up and 8 and 1/4 inch left. Got about 3 out of 10 that way. We finally obtained a 40X Fecker scope and could see flys. Kill ratio went to 7 out of 10. Wish I still had that old heavy bbl Sako .222 mag.

when worked for a claim staking crew years ago in alaska we used to shoot spiders out oif the center of their webs but we used our pistols short range of course.
xtra mag

when i was 10 i used to shoot grass hoppers with my red rider and 10/22, about 4 miles from sioux falls...100 yds is pretty impressive on a hopper...

Was field testing new .22-250 hand loads last weekend when a lizard showed himself eating lovebugs off my target at 200 yards. I'm sure he didnt feel a thing. It is now hanging on the wall in the shop. Yea, I know it was a lucky shot, but what the hell, I'll take it.
