Well here it is. I beat my head against the wall for a long time trying to decide which rifle and I am very happy with this one. Now all thats left is to get the reloading dies, bipod and duracoat it and I'm ready to go. I've been shooting Hornady V-Max 55gr until I can load my own and I'm ashamed of the groups so I wont post them until I can load my own /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I think I'll stick with the V-Max bullet but the factory load is nothing special in this rifle.

Great looking Rig ! Ive got one in .204... Shoots pretty well ! Congrats with your new purchase.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have one too in a 22-250. I've had mine for 4 years. It is a tack-driver. I've experimented a lot with reloading. Don't know if you're interested, but here's my best.....53gr Sierra Match King ahead of 39gr of H380 (fire formed cases). This load produces consistent 1/2" groups. Also, it doesn't tear the hell out of fur. My v-max loads were never very fur-friendly.
I hope you enjoy the new rifle.

+1 on the Savages. The reloads will bring them groups in real tight. Have fun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

First thing I did was to take the stock off and make sure the trigger was set as light as possible. Then for a 40gr Vmax I used 34.8gr of H335.

Nice group, when you get some spare time I need to frame a garage and I think the savage would work just as well as the Dewalt if not better /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just went out and shot my new 12FV in 204 last weekend and I love it also. 1.5" at 200 yds with factory V-max loads. We definitely got our moneys worth!

I like the V-Max bullets and for $36 I can buy 250 55gr. I already have 60 casings. All I need is the primers, powder and dies and I'm ready to go. I bought 3 boxes of them in factory loads at $27 a box!! With all component figured in (plus 100 more casings) it will cost $7.48 to load per box. Plus the advantage of better accuracy once I find the right load. At that kind of price I'll be able to shoot so much I'll have to buy a new barrel next year.
