Well guys, here it is. I know I haven't posted in this area but your commentary was instrumental in me picking out my new gun. Hopefully the photos work. Its a Stevens 200 with a Nikon Prostaff Scope and Burris mounts. I've taken it out to the range a couple of times and it is a sweet gun. I can hardly believe it only cost $550 with the scope and mounts included.

Thanks for all your advice.

Hard to go wrong with the Stevens it seems. I was wondering if my 200 was a fluke as far as good accuracy goes. (How could such an inexpensive rifle possibly shoot all that well) With all the happy owners here and around, apparently I wasn't lucky at all...they are what they are.

Looks good!

I've put the discount Remington ammo through it along with Hornady VMax. Was grouping about 1" at 100 yards. Truthfully guys, the gun is probably better than that. I'm just not that good of a shot

It's really nice to see some manufacturers in this day and age that can produce a discount product but maintain quality throughout the process. I'm not a "buy only American" guy, but I can't think of any low end product I've ever bought that was made in China that left me feeling good afterwords. This gun just feels great.

For all things Savage go here:

http://savageshooters.com/SavageForum/

Buy into the paid membership for 12 bucks a year (there is no discount for multiyear so stick with just one year until you make sure you are happy with the outfit)

That membership will allow you access to the Classifieds

Look up the member and vendor "Northlander"

He's got the three screw Savage trigger for a reasonable price ..........

You team that up with your Stevens and you find that one inch is passe.

Good lookin' gun

Three 44s

I have that same gun without the camo and it is a tack driver. I shoot a 60 Grain V-Max behind 35 grains of Winchester 748. That is the most accurate load I have found for mine.

The twist on the 22-250 I believe is 1 in 12. I'm not a reloader so I am shooting 50gr Hornady Vmax factory ammo through it. Unbelievably accurate for such a cheap gun. The stock is better than I expected at this price point too. Not good, mind you, but descent for plastic. I bought this as a hunting rifle. It fits the bill perfectly.

I own a Stevens 200 in .25-06, reload for it, put some camo on it (basic grey stock & blued barrel) and it's a shooter. 1/2" groups at 200 yards with a Nosler 87gr. Ballistic Tip, IMR-3031 powder @ 3300 f.p.s.

I have yet to shoot a coyote with it, but hope to do so, soon. Here's a g-hog that I got with it, shortly after sighting it in at the range. He's showing his good side, as the other side is missing.

I've got the exact same gun. It's light weight and fits me perfect. I got mine for $259 on sale.
So far I've only shot factory stuff. Mine likes the Winchester Supreme 55gr. Ballistic Silver Tips.

Bought one for myself for 239.00 out the door nib in 223. After bringing it home my son wants it so guess what? He owns it now but my lil wife told me to go to the pawn shop and get me a rifle. Thats when I found the remington 700 in 243 for 325.00 out the door.
