This was e-mailed to me so I haven't verified it it, but it looks like the real deal.

This picture was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over LakeConroe! (For those of you who are not local,LakeConroe is nearConroe,TX.)That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!

This alligator was found between Athens andPalestine,Texas near a house. Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator- guess he wouldn't cooperate...

Anita and Charlie Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night.

Their neighbors had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations. "I didn't believe it," Charles Rogers said.

Friday they realized the stories were, if anything, understated. Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens had to shoot the beast, Joe Goff, 6'5" tall, a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, walks past a 23-foot, 1-inch alligator that he shot and killed in their back yard.

Real story from http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/g/gator.htm

"The facts are that these pictures were taken in 2004 by Terri Jenkins, an officer of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service over the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge about 40 miles South of Savannah, Georgia.
According to a news release, she was aboard a helicopter that was igniting prescribed fires in the refuge when the 12 to 13-foot alligator was spotted swimming with the full-grown deer in its mouth."

I knew this wasnt real when they said lake conroe, thats about 400 miles from shreveport, where the news station is.

The next pic is described here. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/wcgator.asp

Sorry, but not real either! Still, a 13 foot gator is no laughing matter, i wouldnt mess with one!

I have a cousin who does ADC on gators in central FL, he got a 14 footer a few years back. That was a VERY BIG DEAL. That's Huge! He sent me a video of the catch, kill, and loading it into his truck. It was an awesome AWESOME beast. That one looked alot like this one. Monster, but not 23 foot. Estimate the legnth of the deer's back and use it against the gator's back. I think rowney has it.

Now that looks to be a pretty good sized hole in your gators head. Did you take him with Archery equipment and use one of those .44 Mag shot poles to finish him off, or did you just shoot 'em with a firearm?

Caught him on a chicken fishing rig during the night and buckshot the next morning. I'ts a super story, and if I wasn't so tired I would type it.

When I saw the 1st photo above, I thought it may have been taken in FL.. When we were living down there, I found out that most of the deer are no larger than a Great Dane.. Some of the guys used to rig their pickups with 'deer stands' in the bed and then park out in the wildlife areas during the legal hunting season.
Had that been the case, the deer size and size of the gator would have been pretty close to accurate.
