New Tikka T3X Forest 7mm-08

Just picked it up this morning. Very pleased after unboxing. It did not however come with scope rings, for those of you counting on using them. Instead they included sling swivels.

I plan to use a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10×50 for optics. Undecided on mounts at the moment. Trying to decided between a Picatinny rail/Warne Maximas, Opti-lock, or Talley LW's.

Will update on scope mounts once i decide and have scope back from Leupold and mounted, and again after i get some ammo and take to the range. May be a few weeks until all that happens however
 
Pick up a box of the Fed Fusion 140gr and give them a whirl. I tried them on a recommendation from a friend and couldn't be more pleased. In fact, I may just shoot them for a while before I start tinkering with a reload for it.
 
I bought the t3 lite stainless in 7mm08 the first they hit our shores and I do not regret it. Fantastic looking gun I will guarantee you will love it. GOOD LUCK!
 
Was def leaning towards the Talleys, i had planned to try some Hornady American Whitetail 139gr, and whatever else i can find locally...saw some Rem Cor-lokt in 120gr $29.99 and 140gr $24.99 at store i purchased the Tikka from.
 
Also the barrel is 22" not 20" like i had thought, i believe the older T3 Forest was 20"...not sure of the reasoning for the extra 2" on the T3X...i believe i have a 1:9.5 twist.
 
Got scope back from Leupold last night, alot sooner than expected!
I think im going to need a Picatinny rail, the scope tube is on the shorter side and i will have almost no adjustment room with fixed mounts...that being said what rails are you guys running? I think id like to find one that utilizes the recoil dowels. I have a set of Warne rings already that should give me enough height to clear the 50mm objective.
 
The Mountain Tactical picatinny rail seems to be out of stock, i guess im going to use an EGW as im tired of waiting, i wanna shoot this thing lol.
