Hey im new to trapping and going to set out a line in a couple of weeks. Im mainly going after coyotes maybe a fox if i get lucky. Just wondering what size and type of traps to use, how to set it up, what scents to use, etc. Thanks alot guys.

use number2's and steak very well like cross steak as far as sets you can use dirt holes, flat sets posts sets can also try asking on trapper man

Thanks guys. Where i was thinking about setting up is on a small river where i call coyotes. Every time i go out there, there is new tracks. What do you guys think the best way to set up is?

Do your self a big favor and buy the following book for youself for Christmas, it is by far the best book on trapping coyotes:
Hoof Beats of A Wolfer. It was written by L. Craig O'Gorman and the number there is 406-436-2234

I usually set 50-60% sets as dirt holes. Territorial sets and flats sets are most others. I only trapped on a couple farms this fall, 10-13 traps instead of 80-125 traps set. All of the 21 coyotes caught were caught in dirtholes, except for a few snared ones. Go figure?? Usually there is a more balanced number. It is now the best I have ever done with so few traps, several of them must have caught 3 or 4 coyotes.T.20
