Decided to take the plunge into handgun hunting....Ruger Super Blackahwk Hunter Bisley, went to Jim Stroh at Alpha Precision for barrel crown, forcing cone cut to 11 degree and Taylor throating. next stop was Dave Clements at Clements Custom Guns for bead blasting, had the Ruger warning removed as well. Hammer, pins and trigger were plosihed and springs replaced/lightened. Thr front sight was ground down and the Ruger logo engraved on it. Its topped off with a Leupold 2x and Hogue Cocobolo grips. Its going to a long wait for next season.

Very nice I'm a pretty big 44mag fan although lately been using 45 Colt more, what bullet are you planning on shooting. 296/H110 is all you need for powder my favorite jacketed bullet is the 270gr DC and any of the LBT style cast bullets from 250gr up work well

Im amassing bullets as we speak, so far ive aquired everythng from 200-300 in JHP/SJHP and a stockpile of 210gr cast. I'll eventually pick up some 300gr+ cast to try as well. Havent decided on a powder but thats the second time H110 was recommended as the end all powder for 44, must be on to something.

That is very nice, I miss my 44 mag so much, I have several body parts that I would trade for one like that.

Try some Accurate Arms #9, it is THE powder in my mind for 44mag. 296 Win. is also very good.

That is a beauty! I have never shot a bisley, but I love their hammers! I have been wanting to do some hand gun hunting myself for awhile. What did someting like that cost? I have a blackhawk laying in the safe that could become a "project". Very nice gun and cool pictures

i was running reloader 2400 in my 4 5/8 superblackhawk with 230g xtps. its a good fast clean burning powder even in the short barrel. lots of boom too.

Nice. I don't know if you have had the Bisley frame before but I think you will like it a lot.I have 2 .45s and a 44 all bisley.I really like the shorter reach to the hammer. Also the rugers can be slicked up so smooth it's hard to believe if you haven't felt one.Just a really good design in Bisley in my opinion and yours looks like the ultimate example.Very nice revolver.
