NFA Branch losing their grip on Suppressors???

We can only hope that common sense prevails.

33 people a year working and over $1million a year in overtime and there is still an 8 month backlog.

thousands and thousands of applications, and only 6 prosecutions a year.. Seems to make sense to remove it.

Maybe the ATF wants to remove them from the list before the HPA passes and they have to issue all of the $200 tax credits?

C'mon guys....think.

My NFA dealer has brought this up to the Billings ATF office guys in general conversations, and they are saying the ATF/DC office wants to release the suppressors from the NFA before the HPA law passes in hopes that the law dies, then they can slowly clamp down again in hopes of holding off until the next socialist administration.

thats probably not gonna happen. as others have noted - thats a bargaining chip they tossed into the bill knowing it would be cut at some point. but they gotta have something they're willing to wiggle on. tax stamps fees - which are non refundable if you get deny'ed anyway - are probably gonna be high on that list.

they may be willing to grandfather a few weeks prior to the bill's offically becoming law, but i doubt we'll see much more than that, if any.

That is my initial thought on the whole thing also.
