Nickel Boron Coating

Does anyone know of a company that does this type of plating thought about getting my bolt and carrier done kinda like the spikes tactical one.

I can not answer your question but I was just reading if this was really needed or not. The majority said No and then they swing to Yes.

Unless you're in a combat environment with limited time to properly clean & lube the Failzero, NiB or Chrome BCG it is not needed. Will the BCG be more reliable because of the coating? A lot of people think it will be and others will say keep it wet and it will work. Some have it because it looks good.

Not really any solid answers.

I think you should buy one and save your old BCG for a back up. Get what you want and don't look back.

Heat is the ARs worst enemy, it appears as if this coating is fairing rather well in conditions which stress the platform. The Spikes Tactical BCG is not much (if any) more expensive than most others. I generally run Colt Bolts, but just acquired a complete Spike Tactical (very nice gun) and I'm sure it will suit my needs just fine.

Well it was either gona be the hard chrome one from RRA Wich is $126 or the nickel boron from spikes for $226 but I was just wondering if there was a place to just get my original coated in the nickel for cheaper is there any benefit to the chrome one other than easier cleaning? I guess I don't really need it but I'm about done with my new upper and am probably gona buy a lower too so I can have 2 guns instead of the 1 1/2 most regular BCG I have seen are around the same price as the RRA chrome one so I figured why not upgrade a little to chrome or the nickel.
I know the RRA is hard chromed but anyone heard of the chrome wearing out or flaking? Supposedly the nickel is guaranteed not to wear as far as finish.

I checked out the link you posted too it's kinda yay or nay like you said. I'm sure glad that people on this forum are more respectful and try to help out people than some of the people on that forum. Thanks for the ifo guys kinda new to the AR thing even though I had it for 3 years

I use one in my 204, so there is no chance of confusing that bolt with 1 of my others in 5.56.

A lot to spend just for that, but it was worth it to me. Cleaning that rifle recently I found the ease with which it was done. Everything wiped up with a rag, amazing. Gotta scrub all my others.
