Nickel cases

I haven't found a con, though I'm sure some will say they've heard that their hard on dies or crack early.

But for long term storage or putting into leather belt loops, they don't corrode like brass cases.

No cons here either. I have been loading Nickel cases for over 6 years now and have found no problems, I like the fact that they don't tarnish like brass, I have had around 3-4 (22-250) that have had a crack out of over 5000 rounds that I have for they different calibers that I load for.

Looks like I put in my 2 cents on at least 3 of the four previous post.
I prefer the looks of brass also, unless topped off with Nosler/Winchester silvertips.

I tried reloading them once for a 223, and I couldnt keep from denting them, and they were a little harder to resize than brass casings are.

I just have a bunch from my 223 WSSM which shoots terrible so I figured I would try loading for it see if it would improve.

Thanks for all the info in those other posts.

Nickel is definitely more resistant to corrosion and that would be it's only advantage.

Nickel it is more abrasive to standard (non Carbide) dies but it will take a long time to do noticeable deterioration to the internal finish of your dies.

Nickel plating is subject to pealing and cracking, especially at the case mouths on pistol cases that get a flair to facilitate bullet seating.

Lately I have been doing quite a bit of load development with nickle plated 223 cases. I bought 200 of them as a way of keeping my 223, 6x45 and my 25AR loads separate from each other.

I have been up sizing the necks on the case to 25cal. I had maybe 2 crack out of 100. No be deal to me. The real issue has been that now that I have about 2 reloads on them I am starting to have 1 in 6 that the primer pocket is so loose the primer will just fall out. I just ordered more regular brass and will be phasing the nickle brass out. Using CCI primers.

Like everything this is my results and I know what I am getting and I understand why.
