in each state what are the hunting laws on night varmint hunting. 1. is hunting from vehicle allowed?, 2. is lights attached to guns allowed? 3.are supporessors allowed. 4. is night vision allowed? 5. is a shotgun with buckshot allowed?6. are rifles allowed? 7. are decoys allowed?, is sunday hunting allowed? thanks

i will answer the first one as far as i know. in PA. you must be 25 yards from road to hunt. lights attached to the rifle are not allowed at this time but i expect that to change for night varmint hunting. buck shot # 4 and rifles are allowed. supporressor are allowed as long as you have federal permit. sunday huntinng is allowed. decoys i am not sure about. Night vision i am not sure about. Need help on WV AND OHIO?

well, lets see where to start... Pennsylvania... you do not need to be 25yrds from a road you must be 25 yards away from your vehicle... you can hunt along side a road as long as you do NOT shoot across the traveled portion of the highway..
vehicles are not allowed... your light may NOT be attached to a vehicle...
all rifles and handguns must be manually operated....
all decoys are now allowed (new this year)
sunday hunting is allowed for crow, fox, and coyote only...
night vision... NOT ALLOWED
bows may have lighted sight pins.. scopes may have lighted crosshairs.. but no device may cast any beam onto the target...
it is unlawfull to hunt furbearers with a shotgun unless it is plugged to a three shell max capacity..

in wv starting jan 1 you can hunt with a light on coyote with red lense. shot gun with number 4 or 22 mag . dont think the light can be hook to the car . coyote is open all year in the day time . i think a decoy can be use but at nifgt i dont see where that would help much if you have a light on his eyes

60x front of your digest it states pg 21 "any decoy (with the exception of electronic) used in the trapping or hunting of furbearers is now permitted. Any Decoy, including electronic, can be used for hunting and trapping coyotes."

I don't think you can hunt fox in Pa with a decoy....but coyote you can.

You are correct. According to my local WCO electronic decoys can be used for coyotes ONLY.

fox can be hunted with a decoy, but NOT an electronis decoy

"any decoy (with the exception of electronic) used in the trapping or hunting of furbearers is now permitted."

As far as Pa ,the book states you CAN shoot across the road when the line of fire is high enough to preclude any danger to road users. Also you can hunt right along the road .When you alight from a Vehichle you must be 25 yards from the traveled portion of the road .This seems to be a grey area but most feel the 25 yard rule ONLY applies when you alight from a vehichle quickly to shoot.

Dave, you are correct sir. I didnt go into the shooting ABOVE the road only because unless you are on a high bank right along side the road you wouldn't normally be able to shoot across the traveled portion of the road without any danger to vehicles... there are many "unless" rules this is illegal "unless" you do this...
