Nikko Stirling Scopes?

Found them on line anyone have any reviews to say about them? they seem alright and some guys on Dead Dog Walking endorse them.

Thanks for any input

They don't track well. The glass is mediocre. They are unnecessarily big, bulky and heavy. They don't hold zero on much last a 243. This is with first hand experience from one my buddy owned. He got rid of it after a couple of range sessions with shifting POI and very poor tracking. From what I've read, this is about par for the course.

Get a Nikon Prostaff or Redfield revolution if on a budget. They're far more scope for the money.

I have one, and maybe I just got a good one, but personally for their price range, I think the glass is pretty good, bright, clear, holds zero (on my .223). I dont use the turrets on mine so couldnt tell you how it tracks, but have moved it to a few rifles and it re-zero's and holds just fine.

I personally think for their price point they are a decent bang for your buck.

I haven't tried the redfields or the diamonbacks which I have heard great things about and suspect may be a better bang for your buck (just from what I have read).

But again, from someone who has tried the Nikko, I like mine.

Never mind, see my comments further on down.

My .243 came with one on it. I shot it for 6-8 years with no complaints. I very seldom had to make any adjustments when I would put it back on paper once a year. After 6-8 years it got to where I couldn't put 2 holes within 4 inches of each other though.

thanks

The Redfield would be a better choice. I had a Nikko Sterling that came on a gun I bought. I never did shoot with it but was not impressed with the glass.

I changed my mind on this too.

I took the rifle out that I have my nikko scope on. After shooting my Viper and Zeiss I hate it, it is very cloudy on the outside, eye relief is poor, another one I will be replacing as soon as I figure out which way I want to go.

I have one on my 22-250. Its been on it for around 4 years now. I have had no problems with it holding zero at all but when you turn up the magnification, it does cloud up and the eye relief could be better. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought a different scope. As already said, there are better scopes out there for the money. All that being said, I dont plan on replacing it yet but will once I get some good glass on my AR.
