Nikon Buckmasters vs. Luepold VX-1

I am looking to get a new scope for my AR. Which do you think is better Nikon Buckmasters or Luepold VX-1? And why?

i looked into getting either one of these not to long ago, and after looking i like the nikon actually. i have never dealt with leupold customer service, but i have heard like stated above that it is good. but honestly the nikon i liked best was the prostaff over the buckmasters. sorry dont mean to add another scope but just throwing it out there.

Personally, I'd go with the Leupold. I own two of each manufacturers scopes. I recently bought two Nikon Buckmasters and ended up having to send one of them to their Customer Service Center for a flaw in the glass piece that was minor. They cleaned the scope alright, didn't charge me, but it came back with clearly the same flaw that any blind man could see when looking through the scope. So much for their wonderful Customer Service. I wasn't impressed.

I have a vx1 and it is not worth 200 I would rather have a buckmasters or probably even a prostaff

And I am all about leupold when I can afford it

I was going to recomend the Omega by nikon. They had them on sale at natchez for 135. Clear as day and a lot of eye relief...maybe a little too much for an AR, but depends on your preferance.

I have seen and shot a couple of leo scopes. I now exclusivly shoot Nikon. THeir optics are grest!. I find that they are in par with Leo, but a little cheaper.

so im new to the site. but i figured i would give my opinion. i have had many lue scopes over the years. i have made the change to nikon and im loving them! i have the buckmaster 4.5-14 on my r-15 and its great. i would rec it to anyone looking at setting up a ar for pred or varm

You have it in Photobucket? If so, I'll explain the easy way.

You should be satisfied. We love continuing sagas so keep us informed.

Nobody has a better $69 scope than the next brand, just because a $1000 scope looks good dont mean their $200 scope is also great, for the most part all scopes in the same dollar range are equal. ed

Both about the same in my opinion, I have both brands, to me I guess it would boil down to what I could get the best deal on.
