I ordered a nice Nikon M-223 4-16x42mm BDC 600 scope for my new Windham WW-15. I will be using this primarily for predator hunting. I also got the Nikon M-223 scope mount, not the one with 20 MOA built in for long range, because I think my shots will be 100-200 yards.

I have the m-223 20MOA mount it seems pretty soild to me. It is split in the middle on the "claws" that clamp to the rail so it was interesting, but seems to work well. They are so well priced I really questioned how good it could be, but it seems to be of good quality

I can't tell if it is holding POA that well because every other time I go to the range I am using different ammo, but ammo supplies seem to be improving so I might be able to get a better judgement of it then.

As for the scope I don't have experience with them.

I've not found any info on what Nikon considers "long range" since the product literature states there is a built in 20 MOA angle in the mount for long range shooting. Is long range 600 -1000 yards or 200-400 yards. That detail is left out of the literature. I'm sure it is the owners manual.

It looks like a good mount and is priced similar to the Burris P.E.P.R.

I found it for like 30% less than what the P.E.P.R. was.

As for long range shooting, it just basically gives you more more elevation for shooting at longer ranges. I don't think it would be very useful inside 5-600yrds for most cartridges. I have access to a local 1000 meter range just out of town and I like to play around with that stuff so that is why I got it.

I can still sight in at 50yrds if I want. That is where I start shooting for basic sight-ins so I know it will be on the paper at longer ranges.

The moa free mount should be fine for anything inside 400yrds for certain unless your doing subsonic ammo or something.

That is what I'm looking for since I strongly doubt any of my predator shots will exceed 200 yards anyway. I can hardly wait to get the scope mounted and sighted in. We'll see how long it takes me to get my first coyote.

Thanks for the offer, but I already have the non-MOA mount on the way. Besides I don't think I need the 20 MOA capability.

Good luck with putting your first one down.
