Hey guys i recently bought a nikon monarch 3 scope 5x20x44 with the BDC reticle. This may seem like a dumb question but im not sure what the purpose of the yardage turret is on the scope. Say i have my scope zeroed at 100 yards, and i want to shoot a target at 200 yards. Would i need to adjust the yardage turret to 200 and use the second bubble in my BDC reticle? Or can you do one or the other? Hope this makes some sense. Thanks guys

I'd also like to hear your guys opinions on this scope, I got a heck of a deal on it, I have it mounted on my windham weaponry ar15 just have to sight it in

The knob on the left side of the scope is the parallax adjustment. It MUST be dialed to the yardage you're shooting or the POI may be off. Not to mention the out of focus sight picture. That adjustment doesn't move the crosshairs any at all. As for the BDC reticle, you need to find out where your gun shoots in relation to each circle. Obviously, different calibers are going to show different results depending on the bullet weight, speed, and BC. You'll need to experiment with this at the range in order to know for certain.
