Nikon prostaff 4.5-18 reviews?

Anybody own one? I have a 4-16 Vortex diamondback hp that I am not all that impressed with and was thinking about picking up the prostaff but would like to hear some reviews first.
 
Mo, I have used Nikon's PROSTAFF 5 3.5-14 BDC on a Winchester Model 70 Coyote in 22-250 and it functioned flawlessly.
The parallax adjustment really helps when airing out the BDC reticle and being able to use Spot On to really dial in your rifle,scope and ammo is huge. I do some freelance PR/Shooting Event's for Nikon but rest assured I wouldn't tell you a scope will work for your needs if I did not believe it to be true. I have helped out a lot of guy's on this forum and learned quite a few things as well. I don't do any sales so I have nothing to gain.

Thanks Barton. I have a newer 3-9 prostaff on a 22 mag right now and i have to admit that I am really impressed with it. Ive owned a few buckmasters over the years to that always served me well. I really wish that nikon still had the 6-18 buckmaster available. That was one [beeep] of a scope for the money!
 
I have the PS 3.5-14 mildot SF unit and its been perfect for my shooting to 700 yards so far.
Glass is clear, dials spot on, Nikon program is very good and within inches testing at the range.
Ive moved just about all mu scopes to Nikon buckmasters or pro staffs.
 
Thanks for the positive comment's guys! I switched to using Nikon scope's 22 years ago and never looked back. When I had the opportunity to be some product field testing it was a no brainer. First time I used a BDC scope, long before Spot On, I dropped a Kansas doe at 586 yards. Minutes before that I dropped one at less then 50 yards. I never did give that scope back! They have some a long way over the years with the glass and coating's getting better and better.
I really don't think you can go wrong with any of Nikon's scopes that fit your budget.
 
My opinion only....Its an ok scope, I have one, but for the money there are better options. I have owned 17 mid priced scopes ($150 - $400)over the last 4 years including 6 nikons, 3 Burris, 3 vortex, 1 Weaver, 1 Sightron and 2 Bushnell 4.5-18 AR optics. the best scopes by far are the ones from Burris, 4.5-14 and 2-7 Fullfield E1's, and 4.5-14 fullfield II. Clear sharp sight picture, big eye box, great ballistic reticle. In my use, the Bushnell Ar 4.5-18 is as good as the Nikon at 1/2 the price. I had a Monarch 4-16 that I sold 1 month after I bought it. My next scope will be a Burris. FYI - the Predator Quest scopes from Burris use the same glass as the Fullfield E1's and are roughly $50 cheaper for the same magnification. I verified this with Burris customer support.
 
I have a Monarch 4x16 sf on my rem 700 22-250, I have a adjustable stock or I would have to find a different scope. The eye relief is so small that my clothes effect being able to see anything through the scope especially at the top end of the variable power.
