Nikon Serial Number ???

Does anyone know if I can find the serial number for my new Nikon Buckmasters scope on the box somewhere ?
Need it to register with Nikon.
I forgot to get it off the scope before mounting and I hate to take it back off. Already sighted it in.
There are some numbers on the box label, but it doesnt say what they are.
Just thought I'd ask, if not I'll call Nikon on Monday.

I know this is a old post but I also have same problem. I have mounted my new Nikon 3. 6-24x50 scope and had a [beeep] of a time getting gun sighted inbut got it shooting 7/8 groups. Dump me I did not right s/n down underneath scope before mounting and sighting gun in. Is s/n on the box ? I think I might have sent warranty card in. I can not see s/n number under the rail even with flash light. I want to insure scope and gun. That’s why need of s/n. I want to do everything I can not to take scope off of gun and resight every thing in again. HELP.....Thanks. Marty
 
I tried mirror but could not get angle right to read it. I had to take scope off and look at it and read sight in.
Folks... when you buy a new scope write s/n down before you mount it for insurance reasons. Marty
