Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology

I recently purchased a Savage 16 .243 package that had the 3X9X40 Nikon BDC scope with it and unknown to me until this morning there is a website that calculates your ammo and how it corresponds to the BDC scope. I was watching a show on the outdoor channel and it mentioned something about it so I googled it, found it. This is very cool site! Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology

You can enter what ammo you are using and it shows you everything you need to know about how that ammo should correspond to the scope at the different yardages.

There is also an app for smartphones you can buy, which I did, so you can have all that information available to you at any time on your phone.

I can't wait to go out later today and do some shooting and see how accurate this information really is. I have 2 different types of ammo bought and was going to do some long range shooting (300-500 yards) so I could get used to how they shoot for me and this app should be really handy to have right there at my disposal with me while I'm out shooting.

Has anyone else out there used this site/app and if so what are your experiences with it so far?

I'll try to come back and let you all know how it's working for me after I get out and do some shooting.

IA, I think you will be throughly amazed with the accuracy you can obtain by using Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program. If you cahecked out the link Tx. added you can read about some of the awesome shots that were made that day. Hitting 4 inch jars of Tannerite at 600 yards using stock rifles made a lot of guy's believer's in Nikon's BDC Reticle and Spot On ! Now with over 1,000,000 user's something must be working right. We are constantly updating new load info and adding new features as well. Hopefully this Jan. we will have some great new tools on Spot On to help make long range shooting easier.

Here's a pic of Nikon's P-223 3-9 BDC 600 scope which I recently found at Cabela's! What a great affordable option for your AR.
