Nikon Spot On Wind Meter

I saw one of these at Academy today. They plug into your smart phone. Has anyone else seen them or use them? Not very expensive and look like they might work.

On sale at Cabela's for 29.99, discontinued at MidwayUSA, no reviews on either site. Also on sale at opticsplanet for 29.99. I'd probably just buy a Kestrel and input the data in the field if you use the Spot On phone app.

I have Nikon's Wind Meter and it really does work very well with Spot On. I have seen price's ranging from $29-$34 for it. The max gust I have recorded is 37 mph here in N. Tx.
