NM Bobcat

For 10 minutes I had him 50 - 100 yards but had to pass on shooting. I didn't purchase the NM trapping permit. This is the second bobcat I've passed on shooting in NM in the last couple years. It is making me temped to drop the $345.

I don't know about the $345 but that is a HEALTHY kitty!

Good deal Brian! I buy the trapper license every year just hoping for that! I've yet to call in a bobcat here in NM. Someday though...

As a resident of NM it makes more financial sense to get the trapping permit. As a nonresident $345 is hard to swallow. I could buy the trapping permit the next 5 years and potentially never get a shot at another bobcat. I’m still thinking about it this year though. I would really like a bobcat and I’ll have time to do a lot of calling the next couple months. I was going to buy it a few weeks ago but thought I probably wouldn’t call in a bobcat. If I would have known I was going to call in this cat, the $345 would have been worth it for me. It would be nice if NM had a less expensive permit for bobcats taking without a trap.
