I buy "seconds" at Sierra in Sedalia and some have the tips inserted upside down.. I've shot them with the tip that way and out to 150 yards, you see very little difference in accuracy...After 150, it does seem to affect it.. I generally will pull them out, or break them off even with the end of the bullet, just for that reason..


Out of approximately 850 bullets in one purchase, I culled out less than two dozen that were needing attention in that respect,, most were just discolored and looked a little 'funky'...but they shoot really well..


In fact, I have to go down that way tomorrow and will probably call ahead to see if they have any 39gr .204s in their 'factory' store...as they have to be purchased in person..They are less expensive than buying "perfect" ones in the retail outlets...
