non-resident Texas permits

The 5-day Non-Resident Non-Game license is $45. You may hunt predators, hogs, exotics, and rabbits. Javelina are a game animal in Texas and you need a regular non-res hunting license for them.

Good Hunting,

Bob

I copied this from the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site, if I'm reading this right, you can hunt javelina with a 5 day permit.
Non-resident 5-Day Special Hunting (Type 157): $45
Legal for any period of 5 consecutive days (valid hunting dates will be printed on the license when issued). Valid to hunt: Exotic animals, all legal game birds (except turkeys), all nongame animals, squirrel and javelina (not valid for other game animals or alligators).

i realize that you have the above info, and this is an older post, BUT - you do not need to pay to hunt non- animals - on PRIVATE property. i can quote the regs, and get you in touch with a warden or 2 if you need. when/where/how often are you planning to hunt?

I am coming down for a couple days in February to spend some time up in a chair in the back of a truck. It is going to be a guided hunt, so I can't say for sure what land I will be on.

for AEEE

I did not understand what you were saying about not needing to pay to hunt non-animals???? If you hunt any terrestrial vertabrate in Texas, you must have a hunting license and that means paying the state.

I think he meant to say non-game animals. As far as needing a permit I'll leave that one to someone else. I got one when I went to Texas last Jan. and we were hunting on private land.

I stand corrected on the javelina. Thanks for the heads up. You DO however need a hunting license for non-game animals. We are not talking about the fine line of "nuisance" animals here. That does not apply to guided or paid hunts. Let's not get anyone in trouble here.........

Thanks, everyone. I feel that $45 to allow me the legal right to hunt from one of those eleveated chairs from the back of a truck is money well spent!!

for some reason, certain words are edited out. i typed in "non- emag animals" spelled backwards as to not have it edited, but yes, a guided hunt IS different.
pest animals are different on private property, as you do not have to pay if they are going to kill or harm livestock, poultry, food, crops, pets,or property. there IS a very fine line. the $45- is the best way, and worth it! being stationed down here at fort hood allows me to enjoy this predator and varmint hunters' heaven called texas.
