Hello to all, Just found out I drew a tag for NE Utah /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifMuleDeer. I live down by Las Vegas so my chances to do any scouting will be on three day weekends around the upcoming holidays.
Was wondering if I could get a little info on where to start looking up there? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

I live in central Utah but iam not famliar with that area but i belive the heber mountains are in your unit if you can find some public ground i would try there, What are you using a rifle? and if so what caliber

Did you pull a rifle or muzzleloader tag? I will be hunting that area again this year (muzzleloader), since I didn't pull a southern tag...again (nor my limited entry area either).

If its a rifle tag, get ready for a three ring circus. If you work for it, you can get away from some of the crowds, but if your gonna stay near roads you will certainly have a bunch of company. There is a ton of public land out by Strawberry Res., Mirror Lake Highway and further NE by Flamming Gorge. All these areas get hunted heavily. Last year during the rifle hunt, there were a lot of very good deer taken around the Mirror Lake area due to the snow. Best bet...strap on your boots and get to a non-motorized vehicle area (no atv's).

Good luck and have fun!
